RBL is a Madison, Wisconsin-based artist whose name stands for more than a stage persona—it’s a movement. Short for “rebel,” RBL represents the belief that individuality is a person’s greatest strength and that true success comes from embracing what makes you different. Originally building a following in Milwaukee under the name Less Common, RBL gained recognition through emotionally driven songwriting and genre-blending releases. The song “Daisy” became a fan favorite, earning over 1,000 streams, radio rotation in Milwaukee, playlist placements, and a performance at Summerfest, where he opened for the BoDeans in 2022. Inspired by artists like Michael Jackson, The 1975, Chance the Rapper, and All Time Low, RBL blends alternative rock, pop, hyperpop, punk-pop, R&B, and hip-hop into a sound defined by relatable lyricism, infectious melodies, and positive messages. Through songs about self-discovery, mental health, relationships, growth, and setbacks.
