Here That Rainy Day by Brice-Arnaud Guérin is a cinematic jazz reverie built on the timeless Jimmy Van Heusen standard. Reimagined with original lyrics in French and English, the song blends piano, voice, flute, and vibraphone into a delicate, pastel-colored soundscape. It’s a love song that never says its name — a celebration of rainy days, quiet intimacy, and the beauty of staying in while the world turns grey. Think Jacques Demy filming in your place: fog on the boulevard, umbrellas blooming, lovers lingering in bed. If you’ve ever found joy in the hush of a rainy afternoon, this track will feel like home. - Here that rainy day (new French lyrics) - Enfin la pluie et le brouillard Du crachin sur le boulevard Des gouttes qui manquaient Les arbres se desséchaient Les mines se font moroses Et les ombrelles éclosent - Here that rainy day Dancing with a smile Here that rainy day - Un bon prétexte pour rester Flemmarder sur l’oreiller Redire ces mots tendres Que l’autre aime entendre Le visage tout en sueur Un bref instant sans pudeur - Here that rainy day Slipping tenderly Here that rainy day - Les averses souveraines Agissent d’elles-mêmes Renversent les cœurs Déclenchent rires et pleurs Quand l’ondée cesse et vient le vent. Le ciel gris mat passe vif-argent - It was that lovely day Soothed by the rain Here again a lazy day - Here... that rainy day Beautiful day - (C) 2026 Brice-Arnaud Guerin - - Here that rainy day (new English lyrics translation) - Finally, the rain and the fog Drizzle on the boulevard Drops that were missing The trees were drying out Faces were becoming gloomy And the parasols were unfurling - Here that rainy day Dancing with a smile Here that rainy day - A good excuse to stay Lazy on the pillow Repeat those tender words That the other loves to hear Faces all sweaty A brief moment without modesty - Here that rainy day Slipping tenderly Here that rainy day - The sovereign downpours Act of their own accord Turn hearts inside out Trigger laughter and tears When the shower stops and the wind comes. The dull gray sky turns quicksilver - It was that lovely day Soothed by the rain Here again a lazy day - Here... that rainy day Beautiful day - (C) 2026 Brice-Arnaud Guerin more
