This song is off of my first album "Pleistocene Dreams,” which is a concept album with a theme based upon the Ice Age.
This song was mainly recorded to my TASCAM MS-16 sixteen-track, one-inch reel-to-reel tape recorder in July 2021. I added in tambourine, drum kit overdubs, and a new electric bass track digitally to the final version of this song.
The original all analog-recorded master, which features a slightly slowed down recording via the varispeed on the tape recorder, an alternate drum kit track, no tambourine, and an alternate bass track is available on original CD copies of the album, and a few custom-made vinyl records.
I made the mistake of being cautious with the recording levels, so the tape hiss became rather prominent. I have learned to record rather hot on the tape recorder because of the stellar headroom at the speed of thirty inches-per-second.
The sixteen-track recorder was formerly owned by Jay Bennett of Wilco, and the up and coming R&B/blues rock artist Neal Francis.more
