This is one of my attempts at a "Daft Punk" inspired French House type of track. This song consists heavily of sampled funk and disco songs (idk how they did this over and over again; even with a modern DAW, this is tedious and at times even more time consuming than composing) as well as MIDI tracks utilizing Serum 2. I will likely release this song within the next few weeks. For the time being, it's live on Soundcloud and YouTube as a music visualizer as I work out some kinks with the track. I named it Miami Vice due to the disco/funk tonality of this track. The track is short, simple, and deliberately repetitive (it was done on purpose/not user error. Yes, there could be a few more changes in the track, but that misses the point of making a DP-inspired song), much like what you hear in tracks from Homework and Discovery, with a heavy focus on groove and danceability. I find this both interesting and challenging because you have to find subtle yet clever ways of keeping the listener engaged. Let me know what you think! more
