This is the first song that I started writing for the record, which laid the foundation for the themes that run through the songs: an image of a rural Ontario, renting a car with family and driving a few hours to a cottage lake. The tender moments shared with others, the missteps and blunders. The blend of sunkissed memories and the regretful things you might have said or done. The simple beauty of looking at someone who is looking back at you, only to begin to smile. How quickly those moments become just a short movie that we stache in our brain, that we replay even more often when we no longer frequently speak to those people or go to those places. How easily we can let one falling out cascade through the rest of our lives. How days become years, and years even more quickly become decades. The blissful joy of being with others, and the inevitable heartbreak that accompanies their loss.more
