“free” is an ode to all those trying to make it in a fickle world. It's about being "all in". I'd just moved to LA and was living illegally in a warehouse right next to a private airport in the Valley where Kanye and Howard Shultz allegedly fly in and out of. Life was ironic. No windows, parking lot for a yard, sort of a bohemian existence. My roommate at the time was messing around on his Juno one night and we heard something special in it. Out came "free". more
