Coming Soon To Spotify/YouTube & Others! A Bluesy Rock Biker Song!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Half past six and the kettle’s just clicked,
Cold in the yard and the clutch feels stiff,
Zip up the jacket, pat for the keys,
Little bit of drizzle hanging in the breeze.
Neighbour's curtains twitch when I hit the start,
That lumpy idle always warms my heart,
Left foot down, little nod, away we go
Town’s still yawning, I’m already sold.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Past the lights, past the shops, past the school-run drag,
Out where the hedges blur and the road goes mad,
And the day gets better with every gear I throw.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Grip, twist ’n’ roll, let the bad week shake,
Let the bars buzz soft through your gloves and ache,
Grip, twist ’n’ roll, let the grin take hold,
Bit of blues in the blood and a back tire soul.
Not trying to be a hero, not out to show off
Just me, this bike, and a bit of get-lost.
When the world talks rubbish and your head won’t slow,
You grip, twist ’n’ roll.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Lay-by coffee in a paper cup,
Mate pulls in and says, “You been out long, bruv?”
We talk pure nonsense, tyres and rain,
Who nearly binned it at that roundabout bend.
Then back on the saddle, back in the lane,
Sun starts breaking through proper and plain,
Engine’s got that sweet spot, loose and light
One of them days the bike rides right
--------------------------------------------------------------
No big speech, no deep grand plan,
Just a wrist and a road and the best bit of I am,
And the whole world fits in the white lines up ahead.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Grip, twist ’n’ roll, let the bad week shake,
Let the bars buzz soft through your gloves and ache,
Grip, twist ’n’ roll, let the grin take hold,
Bit of blues in the blood and a back tire soul.
Not trying to be a hero, not out to show off—
Just me, this bike, and a bit of get-lost.
When the world talks rubbish and your head won’t slow,
You grip, twist ’n’ roll.
--------------------------------------------------------------
And it ain’t about speed, not really, not quite,
It’s the bend done clean and the timing just right,
It’s the nod from a stranger coming the other way,
Like, “Yeah, I get it, mate, same kind of day.”
It’s the laugh in your lid when the road opens wide,
That daft sort of joy you can’t fake if you tried.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Grip
Twist
Let it pull you out a bit
Roll
Breathe
Let the rest fall off the seat
--------------------------------------------------------------
Grip, twist ’n’ roll, let the bad week shake,
Let the old stress rattle right out with the chain,
Grip, twist ’n’ roll, let the grin take hold,
Raw little rhythm with a rock ’n’ roll soul.
No crowd, no stage, no need for applause
Just clean air, bad tunes, and a decent exhaust.
When life gets noisy and your chest sits low,
You grip… twist… ’n’ rollmore
