Crow on a wire was written with the idea in mind of what true paranoia feels like. There is an element of acceptance and introspection that always comes with the most stressful moments in our life. Black Salamander takes to me a place like a labyrinth, shady characters, vulnerable sounds. I made this song thinking about what being in the 'twilight' of 4am is like, with thoughts about previous friends, loved ones, reflecting but moving forward. I made this song thinking about the idea of being isolated, and in a foreign environment (whether that be physically or psychologically). Everyone has stages of growth and I felt like I was capturing when I've felt in the 'Eye of the Storm' of the next event in my life. When the things that distract us are gone and it's finally time for us to rest our eyes, we can become our selves again for a split second.more
