808DNA (also known as 808) is the stage name for Hélio Clemente Cuve, an artist, musician, producer, singer-songwriter and sound engineer, known for his alternative and moody R&B ambient work. Originally from Maputo, he released his debut solo Album #NovaTemporada in 2014 to extensive national critical acclaim. He was already a national household name in music production as the producer and sound engineer for the record studio #TrackRecords where he wrote, produced, mixed and directed for dozens of national and international artists. He is often associated with being pionering a mixture of dark, somber and intoxicating experimental R&B vibes in Mozambique. Also know for being a geek beyond sound design and engineering, he took a break from music and moved to Europe and later to North America to focus on his scientific career as a neuroscientist. Living in Lisbon and New York he struggled to manage his graduate career and music and 3 years later he moved to the University of Oxford (UK)
