Born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina, 92Byu sets himself apart from his peers in that he always knew he was going to be great. Developing his passion for music at an early age, his natural inclination towards the arts led him to discover a career in music. The inspiration comes from wanting to truly bring the music industry to the Carolinas and becoming the Berry Gordy of Sumter, SC – starting with himself as the first act of many of his label, 9ine11 Records. 92Byu, who’s name stands for Be Your Own University, he prides himself on teaching his audience about himself through his music. He has a sound that can be described as new and refreshing, but at the same time familiar. Although 92Byu is from the South, he considers himself lyrically dominant like artists from northern regions.
