After surviving a near death experience at birth whilst losing his twin brother, Alick was born a premature child in a country called Zambia. At only 8 years old, he lost his father and begun asking God questions as he grow older trying to find his purpose. He was later bullied at school because of his size and begun writing songs in his bedroom to ease the pain and found solace in writing whatever came to his mind. He tried everything he could to make the pain and trauma go away but failed terribly, he then decided to surrender all is doubts, pain and troubles to God and shortly after begun writing songs for God. He was nicknamed "Disciple" in high school and that triggered him to come up with his stage name "Alick Disciple 49" AD49, the number 49 symbolizing a jersey number in football (soccer) for a footballer who is usually not the center of the game. Since then, his Christian faith has influenced his music today.
