La Nordika is a salsa and Latin jazz orchestra created in Sundsvall Sweden in August 2017 under the baton of the renowned percussionist, composer and conductor Alek Portilla. The band's enveloping and powerful sound is characterized by the influence of the great salsa bands from Venezuela, Colombia, New York and Puerto Rico of the late 60s, 70s and 80s and the repertoire includes compositions with original lyrics sung both in Swedish, English and Spanish.
