A Tree in Daylight is a singer-songwriter from the South of the Netherlands, born as Niels Verboom. As a child he started playing drums and in the last twenty years he became a multi-instrumentalist who sings, writes lyrics, plays drums, guitar, bass, piano, ukulele and a bit Irish bouzouki and mandolin. From a young age he was politically active. He has joined many demonstrations and even organized some of them. His songs are political, activistic, self-aware and straight from the soul. Although A Tree in Daylight is one person, he is always collaborating with other musicians. According to his philosophy, you can’t survive in the world alone, but you must work together to make the world more beautiful. A Tree in Daylight describes his music as folk, indie and rock with influences from 60’s hippie and 70’s punk.
