Risen from the ashes of a death metal band, AKUYA, is a phonk producer hailing from Utrecht, the Netherlands. Starting his musical journey as the bassist and songwriter for his band in 2010, his sound has evolved into a unique blend of heavy beats, nostalgic samples, and a touch of metal edge. Since 2018, he has been producing beats under a different alias, before adopting the name and style of AKUYA in 2021. AKUYA found early inspiration in $uicideboy$ and Ghostemane, but still draws significant influence from the ALWAYS PROPER collective to this day. His full-length debut album, THE VILLAIN, showcases his talent and versatility as a producer, and now, after having further refined his sound, get ready for the drop of his new EP, "SILVER SHADOW," hitting the streets on September 9th, 2023.
