Anissa Gouizi was born from two cultures,the Italian culture and the Algerian one, both belonging to the Mediterranean Area.
From a very young age, she decided to express her identity through music, using her most powerful instrument - her voice.
She is a singer and a songwriter, composing in several languages (Italian, French, Arabic). Her music is a blend of multiple genres, with significant influence from Italian folk music, Arabic folk music, flamenco and andalusian arabic music.
Her inspiration comes from the contamination of different sounds, languages and cultures; it comes from the encounter with the Other.
Music is her social vehicle to narrate stories about immigration, the journey of the soul, and freedom of being.
