Growing up, April’s family sang in many choirs and April toured with her family. April enjoyed many musical groups, and would have mini concerts for her parents. April was apart of many musical programs where she sang a plethora of musical genres such as gospel, classical, r&b, and jazz. She has also sang in many different languages which she picked up on at a young age, those languages being Japanese, Latin, Swahili. April was a apart of numerous choirs and vocal ensembles, in which she’s attended several broadway musicals and operas. Being apart of those programs paved the way of her passion for classical music. While having a part in those wonderful experiences, April also played several instruments during her elementary, high school and undergrad tenure. April’s life has been full of experiences within the performing arts. April aspires to one day give back to her community in the area of which she has been influenced the most, through the performing arts.
