When I strike the skin of my drum, I draw closer to who I am. I connect with the world beyond words. Through its rhythm, I speak in parables. I communicate victory. I speak to wounded hearts, lost souls and the spirit of a people. When I play my drum, I feel whole. I feel connected. I feel like a messenger of redemption — carrying the voice of my ancestors, the heartbeat of Africa and a message of hope to the world. For more than 25 years, I have carried the Yoruba talking drum beyond its traditional boundaries, allowing my culture to become part of my music, my identity and the way I represent Africa. My drum evolves with me. It commands attention, crosses borders and speaks to people who may never have known its language. They call me Wonder because whenever I step into the light, I believe it should shine beyond me — towards the wounded soul, towards the forgotten, towards the future. My heart is connected to you. My music speaks to your journey.
