Big Boy Brass is an eight-piece brass band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They play energetic New Orleans-style brass band music that pulls inspiration from many similar groups as well as rock, pop, and funk influences. With such variety in their music, Big Boy Brass can easily fit into many different events and venues. The band first got their start during the summer of 2016 playing on the street corners of Lancaster, PA. Soon after, they performed at various venues in and around the city. Eventually, the group began to develop its own specific sound. Big Boy Brass played shows in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia. Some notable performances include opening up for Rebirth Brass Band and Lucky Chops, playing at Exit Zero Jazz Fest, and Lancaster’s own Roots and Blues Fest. They have a studio album “Breaking the Busker’s Code” which they released in 2019, and as of recently they put out their “Holiday Sessions Vol. I” EP (2020) featuring talented vocalists.
