Born and raised in Southern California and participating in the Rap and Hip-Hop culture for over ten years, it’s not surprising that Jason Olivas aka BIG LYRX has a strong voice and music with an unforgettably deep West Coast sound. Growing up he was highly influenced by music, especially from the golden age of soul, oldies, and of course hip-hop. He began with the pen name “Lyrical” when he first started trying to rap in rap flow circles at lunch time in high school. His first ever rap was actually a 2 page written flow about things he was going thru during those current times, which he recited during his first attempt in the rap circle. Already writing rhymes and now flowing in public…this is when his story all began. After that he would go on to perform at talents shows, school dances, and during lunch time stage activities, not shy at all to showcase his skills and talent.
