BlaAko

kailua-Kona Hawaii

Bla Ako (a.k.a. FunkDoc, Kona Vibe) is an artist born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. His music is a fusion of reggae, R&B, hip-hop, lo-fi soul, and island dubstep — blending smooth vocals, deep bass, and raw storytelling. Behind every track is a real story: love, loss, resilience, and the fight to keep family and home together. From late-night jams in Kona to heartfelt tributes to his late wife Juilee, Bla Ako writes music that carries truth and soul. With roots in Kailua-Kona and a sound that reaches beyond the islands, Bla Ako creates music to heal, inspire, and vibe to — proving that even through struggle, the rhythm never dies.
