I have always been fascinated by the story of Bloody Mary. As a child, my friends and I dared each other to “play Bloody Mary”, and I remember standing in the dark in front of a mirror, around 5 years old, staring at myself saying “Bloody Mary” out loud 3x watching my face appear to morph into something terrifying while I waited I guess for Bloody Mary to shatter the mirror and actually I’m not sure what was supposed to happen after that... One day, a few years ago, in a moment of deep reflection in a dark time, I saw someone in myself I did not recognize and all I could think of was my five year old self saying “i dare you to play Bloody Mary” while I looked back at her through the shattered mirror in the darkness.
