My name is Brandon Ballin. I am an American born singer, songwriter, guitar player, producer based in Oslo, Norway. SLOW ROCKET is my solo project and it is a departure from my life long love of writing and performing in experimental rock bands. My introduction to producing beats started back in the mid 90’s with the introduction of DAW’s such as Cakewalk, Reason, and Sony Acid. Influenced by such artists as Röyksopp, Daft Punk, Underworld, Battles, Mr. Bungle, Ween, Porthishead, Sade, Bjork, and Massive Attack, I have been developing as a songwriter ever since my first band experience as a teenager. My first single “We’re all alone”, was released under B.A.B (my first attempt at an artist name). SLOW ROCKET is the new juice. I intend to use my musicianship, voice, life lessons, and the voice of my Norwegian wife, Mari Solberg, on upcoming releases to compose soundscapes that will cross genres, and bend concepts as I continues my unending pursuit of musical exploration.
