Zionessa (Angelica Svensson) was born in Linkoping Sweden the 19 may 1997.
She started her music journey growing up listening to old vinyls of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, learning about Rastafari and the mysticism of reggae. Raised in a tight-knit community, she often sang at local gatherings, absorbing the wisdom of elders who tell stories about love, revolution, and spiritual enlightenment.
At sixteen, she moved to Malmö to study music. There she discovered the writings of Marcus Garvey and finds deeper meaning in reggae, seeing it as a tool to awaken consciousness.
In 2024 Zionessa send some files of her singing to the artist, composer and musicproducer Zimzalabim (Patrik Byström) asking for a musical collaboration. Zimzalabim thought her voice carries messages of unity, empowerment, and spiritual guidance and instantly he began writing her songs, with a more modern style than his earlier productions.
In 2025 Zionessa´s first album “Humanity” saw the light.
