William E. Simpson II, Founder & Executive Director of Wild Horse Fire Brigade (WHFB), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, champions sustainable conservation of American wild horses through the 'Natural Wildfire Abatement and Forest Protection Plan.' This nature-based approach lets horses roam freely, reducing wildfires and boosting ecosystems per the 1971 Wild Horse Act.
Raised on a ranch, Simpson now converts his poetry into lyrics for AI-assisted songs with synthesized music and vocals. He endured lung damage as a CALFIRE volunteer during the 2018 Klamathon Fire, where toxic smoke claimed his wife's life. His on-site documentation of horses' grazing benefits inspired the award-winning documentary Horse of Nature.
Today, Simpson uses his articles, poems, and prose to promote wild horses' ecological perks. Featured in The Atlantic, NPR, The Guardian, and NIH, he's a noted expert who keynoted EQUUS 2022 and spoke at CSU's Environmental Science Dept. Nominated for BLM positions for Wild Horses
