Born in D.C., raised in Texas, my original record deal was with STAX/Respect Records in Memphis. Recorded "You're Astounding" released on Barbara & Joe. While in Memphis I worked with many talented and successful hitmaking songwriters including Carl Smith, Sir Mack Rice and Wilson Pickett and others. After STAX collapsed in Memphis, I worked with Wilson Pickett in Muscle Shoals Ala on "Funky Situation". I moved to Detroit with a new label JuPar Records, I also worked with Don Davis' Groovesville Music as a songwriter. I formed Lady Bad Music (bmi) to develop my own catalog. While working in United Sound Studios, a session drummer, Jerry Jones of Philadelphia said he wanted me to meet his sax playing brother Al Jones. We met, married and made sweet music together which inspired us to create a new music production company "vUSAix International". Al passed away in 2007, after which, I moved to New York, continued to sing and write and look forward to sharing our music.
