Born and raised in the Pineywoods of East Texas, Nacogdoches native Cole Stephens had a love of music and guitars from a very young age. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather who sang gospel music and toured around the Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas areas, Cole sang in church and found a passion for music. In high school, Cole fell in love with the Texas Country Music scene and frequented honky-tonks to see his favorite artists play, such as Cody Johnson, Parker McCollum, and Koe Wetzel. Cole was raised listening to southern gospel, 80’s rock, and all varieties of country music. Cole decided during his senior year of high school to pursue his passion and began writing his own songs. He recorded his first three songs, including “Bonfire,“ the summer after graduation. He also began singing at local gigs and got the opportunity to open for Joey Greer at Banita Creek Hall in Nacogdoches. Cole released his first two singles “Bonfire” and “I Could Use Some Rain” in April 2022.
