Cody Remaklus has been studying and performing music in earnest since high school. Whether in the field or in a practice room, for twenty plus years Cody periodically traveled to Cuba and Brazil, and lived in Central America. During his time at the California Institute of the Arts, where multiple masters on the edge of their traditions were teaching, Cody immersed in several more cultures including the music of Iran (Sufi music), North and South India, Ghana, Bali and Java. Bilingual, Cody was struck early on with the travel bug and love of the world’s cultures and music. Having experienced sacred music in many forms at ceremonies of all types, the pull towards the Spiritual crossroads in life, where the mundane and the metaphysical meet, has proved just as strong as for Cody. In this long overdue solo album, Cody finally turns his process outward, hence the genre name “Journey Music”. Cody is also a Feldenkrais Method Practitioner and works with people both in person and online.
