Conscious Astro first started writing and rapping in his spare time when he was 15 years old working at a fast food drive-thru in Macon, Georgia. Since then, he has developed his style and has become a well rounded lyrical rapper that dwells in the underground hip hop scene. Many have called him a "Cerebral Rapper" and that seems like the best description for the 28-year-old lyricist. Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s, Conscious pulled inspiration from the many underground record labels active during that time. From Def Jux, Stones Throw, Anticon, Rawkus, Rhymesayers and Eastern Conference Records, he never ran out of artists to listen to and analyze. He is primarily inspired by some of the great underground artists like El-P, Aesop Rock, MF DOOM, Vordul Mega and Slug from Atmosphere. The content in Conscious Astro's music ranges from mental illness to the collapse of society. He never wants to be a downer, but instead, he wants to draw attention to the world around us.
