We'll be honest. This song was written about an experience with a past band that two of our members were in. There was a very controlling member that stifled and manipulated the rest of the band. The unfortunate part is that this person was considered a close friend at one point. This made the inevitable confrontations and separation all the more painful. When you deal with a traumatic separation from someone there is a mix of emotions. More immediately, its easy to feel anger and a sense of justice in your own actions. However, that often means setting out on your own and carving a future for yourself from an empty state of being. This song embodies that time period for us where we had to create new possibilities for ourselves and move forward. more
