Diana Hinojosa is a Mexican-American singer-songwriter from Chicago, USA. After earning a degree in political science from the University of Arizona, she stumbled upon La Décima Musa, a quaint bohemian café on Chicago’s Lower West Side, where Latino artists, writers, and intellectuals gathered to listen to música de protesta and old Mexican tunes. That is where she was invited to join a Mexican folk band and later composed Love is Bipolar, meshing her love of blues and son jarocho after wanting to cheer up her heartbroken friend. Later, she went on to write El Corrido de Alcaraz, La Cumbia Trigueña, Cuida Mis Sentimientos (a 60’s-inspired rock ballad), and Te Dejaré Vivir en Paz (a modern-day bolero). She is currently working on an album that will deliver boleros translated into the English language, represented as other genres like jazz, country and danzón.
