Da Heist is a Miami based artist of Dominican decent, born in the Caribbean December 17, 1986. At the age of 5 his family migrated to Miami, FL to a tight knit town called Allapattah. Growing up he describe music as a crucial tool in his adaptation to a new culture and langu­age. At the age of 10 his father bought him a recordable karaoke player which led to the development of his incredible improvisational skills (freestyling). When he was 12 the tragic death of his best friend Jeffrey (Duke) Strickland inspired his first ever composition. He carried and honed his skills all throughout his adolescence. But it wasn't until his senior year in high school that he and his friends decided to form a collective of artist consisting of rappers, producers, designers and DJ's known as Haze Fam Inc. in 2006.
