Described by their friends as bass poetry, Dash Rabbit’s music exists in a strange middle ground somewhere between alt-rock, noise rock, folk, and punk. Lead vocalist (the titular “Dash Rabbit”), plays bass guitar, drums, jaw harp, singing saw, as well as providing samples, while producer Ian Cannon does background vocals and guitar. Dash writes all their own lyrics, mostly revolving around themes of longing, mental illness, overconsumption, and human connection. The duo sites artists such as Bright Eyes, Neutral Milk Hotel, Tom Waits, Simon Joyner, Modest Mouse, and The Mountain Goats as primary inspirations.
