DeNeya Joi, a talented gospel music singer-songwriter, discovered her passion for music at the young age of 7. With a makeshift recording studio in her uncle Joe's closet, she penned her first song titled "Is It Real in Heaven." Coming from a family of musicians and singers, including her mother Lady Joyce Starks-Moore and father Bishop Willie E. Brooks, DeNeya inherited a beautiful gift. She describes herself as a shy yet powerful and anointed worshipper and praiser, with a deep love for God that shines through her music.
Having sung in the church choir for as long as she can remember, DeNeya Joi credits her mother for teaching her the importance of singing with anointing rather than just sounding pretty. Over the years, she has honed her skills as a background singer, learning from talented groups and individuals such as Levi “Too King, Gospel According to Too, Jesse Prather and Committed To Christ, Revelation, and Meaghan Williams McNeal.
