Jim Bates (Drums, Backing Vocals)
Jim has played the drums for over 40 years (barely pausing to eat or sleep!) and has recorded singles, albums and made appearances on TV and radio shows with Brent Ford and the Nylons, John Dowie’s Big Girl’s Blouse, Special Clinic, The Wide Boys, Gerry Colvin’s Inexperience, Ade’s Smoking Blues Band and Zoot Stax and has played with many other bands too numerous to enumerate. Jim later joined Two Nations, a spin off from The Beat, who were signed to the Virgin 10 record label. Two Nations recorded a single and made a promo video in America and released an album and 5 singles in the UK and Europe, one of which charted. They appeared on various TV shows in this country and abroad along with Radio 1 sessions, concerts and interviews. In recent years, Jim has played on sessions with various bands and artists, including Alison Moyet. After many years in Birmingham (West Midlands,) Jim moved to Clogher (Co. Tyrone) 8 years ago.
