I came from humble beginnings and as a young kid, I arrived enthusiastically, fearful, and overwhelmed in the United States. It was the first time I met my family, I didn’t know the language, I had no friends, and didn’t understand the culture. Then I heard hip hop music and everything changed. The stories of struggle, hardship, and overcoming were the themes that resonated with me. Hip hop helped me transition to new and unfamiliar environments. Through music, I want to provide a platform where each person can voice and share their version of struggle, hardship, and overcoming.
