ElValentine

London, United Kingdom

El Valentine is the collaborative creation of El (songwriter, vocalist, and co-composer) and Rae (instrumentalist and producer), formed in 2021 by the London based genre-defying musical couple. Together, they create a dark conceptual world where music, performance, and persona collide. Drawing from a wide range of cultural, artistic, and musical influences, El Valentine champions queer artistry, authenticity, self-expression, and the power of music as a tool for societal and political resistance. Their sound is immersive and provocative, shaped by horror imagery, drag, underground aesthetics, and visual storytelling. Lyrically, they explore themes of identity, sexuality, trauma, power, lust, alienation, and the taboo, pushing into emotional and psychological territory that feels both unsettling and cathartic. At the heart of El Valentine lies a crafted persona, a vessel through which El and Rae explore “otherness,” forbidden desire, and rebellion against societal norms.
