Singer-Songwriter Elizabeth Chada is no stranger to change, heartbreak and perseverance.
Born in Toronto, Canada and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe (Africa), Elizabeth grew up immersed in music and the arts, being influenced by records from Bob Marley to Jim Reeves; but it wasn’t until a teacher encouraged her to begin singing that she began training as a vocalist.
Music has helped Elizabeth in her journey of healing from painful childhood trauma she experienced in Africa for almost 10 years. She found it only natural that her upcoming single was titled “Trauma”; acknowledging the past and its traumatic memories, but also accepting the need to move forward. The single will be released May 2022, as it is recognized as Sexual Assault Prevention Month in Ontario, where Elizabeth currently resides. The single will also be one of the first releases as Elizabeth Chada instead of Shingai, a move she wanted to make as a fresh start in both music, and life.
