Frugu is a Hip-Hop, Boom-Bap and Lo-Fi producer based in Poole, UK. Influenced by many such as, the inventor of lo-fi hip-hop himself, Nujabes, Madlib, the late legend MF DOOM, Pete Rock, spellspellspell, Cookin Soul and many others. He loves anything when it comes to vintage music hardware that built Hip-Hop’s mesmerising instrumentals through the versatile use of sampling and sequencing. The story behind the name Frugu is quite short and sweet – one of his favourite drinks is called Frugo, and he likes frogs. Combining both these things we get Frugu. Frugu mostly uses a Roland SP-404 MKII sequencer/effector, not counting a DAW, for making music.
