Wahiawa, Hawaii

Grafton Howard hails from Wahiawa, Hawaii but was raised in rural Virginia where he met childhood musicians. Raised on quartet style gospel singing and R&B/Pop music, Grafton became a multi-instrumentalist as a young boy. He remembers the only thing he had was God, his mother and music. Later at the tender age of 11 in his soul group he began writing lyrics and dreamed of the brights lights of Hollywood. After finishing high school, he left the comforts of friends and home and headed west for California. Through a series of what he says are miraculous signs of destiny, he ended up acquiring an office job working for the legendary Stevie Wonder where band director a bassist Nate Watts uncovered Grafton's singing abilities. He began working with background vocalist Kim Brewer and various other Stevie Wonder entourage members and Grafton began his own journey of music.....
