For over 20 years, Gabriel Sundy has been involved in several sectors of the San Diego music scene as a bandleader, sideman, and composer. In addition to the numerous rock, jazz, funk, and experimental outfits with which Sundy has performed, Sundy has also made special appearances with groups like The Greyboy Allstars (featuring Fred Wesley), Thievery Corporation, and The Street Walking Cheetahs. Sundy has also performed alongside some of San Diego's finest jazz musicians as well as with institutions like The San Diego Symphony Orchestra. As a bandleader and composer he has performed many of his original works with his groups Nexus 4000, The Applebrown Jazz Ensemble, The Gabriel Sundy Jazz Trio, Nexus, Busride, and Mutantspaceboy. His new project Invisible Sky People may prove to be his most creative and ambitious endeavor to date. Though his primary instrument is the baritone saxophone, he can also be heard playing tenor sax, alto sax, flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, and guitar.
