Hatefönika is the musical project of Hatef Emami, an Iranian poet and artist based in Sweden. He began studying piano, music theory, and solfège in his teenage years, later turning his passion toward literature and poetry. His poems were a cry of protest against the oppressive system of his homeland, against religious dogma, and in defense of human freedom and individuality. After moving to Sweden, he took part in several literary events and published his poetry collection in 2018. In recent years, he has returned to music, transforming the emotions once born through words into sounds and notes, in a form of Melodic Techno filled with depth, emotion, and poetic motion. Today, that same spirit of protest lives on in his music, where emotion, depth, and defiance merge through the power of sound.
