My name is Hoko Roro, and I'm a singer-songwriter, musician, and music coach from Dar es Salaam, TZ. Music is more than just a profession to me – it’s passion, my way to tell stories and to connect with people. I’ve loved music since I was a child, and I’ve never let it go since. In my work, I combine elements of Afro-Fusion with acoustic and modern rhythms, and my lyrics reflect deep personal experiences as well as the social realities of Tanzania. Music for me is not just entertainment; it’s a tool to feel, reflect, and act. My songs are my wake-up call: “Tusilale” – an invitation to live in the moment and, at the same time, reflect on the world around us. Through my voice I aim to touch listeners emotionally. But it’s not just about music. As a music teacher, I want to help young talents find their own voice and ignite their passion. For me, it’s a gift to pass on this love for music. Music connects us all and I hope that my songs mean to you as much as they mean to me.
