My name is Lauren Hamon, and I write lyrics because sometimes I just need to get something off my chest. Every song released under my name or Honest Scars started with something I needed to say. Honest Scars is my independent songwriting project, built around one simple idea: the story determines the sound. I don’t stick to one genre. A story might become R&B, house, trance, indie, rock, country, drill, grime or garage — whatever best fits the words and emotion behind it. I write about real life: love, loss, mental health, difficult relationships, resilience, hope, social issues, politics and the world around us. Some songs are deeply personal; others are observations about things I care about. No fixed genre. No pretending. Just stories, feelings and thoughts turned into music. Because sometimes the most honest stories leave the deepest scars.
