Jane Barnes is a British born composer, songwriter and violinist. She is self-taught in piano and music production. Her music has been broadcasted regularly on the BBC Introducing show in the last few years and remixed on BBC radio.
She produces tracks in multiple genres ranging from classical to instrumental, blues, jazz, pop, world, hip-hop and alternative.
Growing up in a musical family, she was surrounded by music and took up the violin aged five where she won numerous prizes in festivals and competitions and performed in orchestras which influences her own music today. She later studied with the late Howard Davis and after earning her degree in music at Birmingham Conservatoire, pursued a career in performing , coaching youth orchestras, teaching in Spain and the UK. Her influences are from the great film composers, music from the 80's & 90's , jazz. classical and blues. As a young violinist, she was also inspired by the jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli and Yehudi Menhuin.
