Jason Stephens (aka Ironx Ix) is an independent musician, artist, and producer who grew up in love with the nascent post-punk and industrial music genres. Today, he maintains that love of electronic and industrial music, releasing some of the most unique tracks that are contemporary, yet still reminiscent of the late 1980s Industrial Dance revolution.
Growing up in Tucson, Arizona in the 1980s and early 1990s and attending Project M.O.R.E. alternative high school, he made music with his friends. He cut his teeth on a Korg DW 6000 synthesizer, Alesis MMT-8 midi sequencer, electric guitars, and acoustic drums. His musical sensibilities were greatly influenced at this time by bands and artists like Skinny Puppy, Revolting Cocks, Ministry, Godflesh, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Laibach, KMFDM, Pigface, and many others.
Ironx Ix tracks are eclectic and grounded in dark vibes, heavy electronic beats, cut-and-paste vocal sample dialog, and deal in themes like the occult and war.
