Hi, I'm James Matthew, a new singer-songwriter based in Portsmouth. After studying marketing at University, I realised that music is my true passion in life and so I have decided to follow "the dream" after recently graduating in 2022. I fell in love with music listening to my Mum's music as a child and every time I saw an artist perform live, whether on a small or large stage, I felt this pull to performing and creating my own music. I am heavily inspired by pop artists such as Adele, Florence + the Machine and Freya Ridings as well as other artists in other genres such as Radiohead, Hozier and Of Monsters and Men. In my music, I explore themes of heartbreak, the challenges someone faces growing up and finding themselves in their twenties.
