I'm a native Floridian who grew up loving music and nature. I've been trying to make sounds and rhythms since I was very young. I wrote my first melody when I was about four or five on a kid's xylophone, chopsticked on a keyboard but then met the guitar when I was 10. I taught myself chords and some songs. I joined the middle school band, and even though I wanted to play drums, or even the flute, I was stuck with the clarinet because that's what my mom bought me. I ended up being good at it and stuck with it through high school. After high school came my all-girl metal band era followed by a love of alternative, new age, and stuff on college radio in 1990. After attending the One World Festival in Aspen, CO in '94 I fell in love with World music. I had been eying a hammered dulcimer and decided to buy a kit and teach myself. I have dabbled on several instruments but have my favorites. The CED story of 1997 was a chance meeting! Now I enjoy a very wide variety of styles.
