From his early life as the son of a PEI fisherman, growing up surrounded by pickers & singers to his years touring North America in punk & metal bands, Jay Gavin has come full circle and returned to his roots in country, folk & bluegrass. With two albums Spirits 2017 and Boat on a Whale 2019 under his belt, Jay is well known for his natural authenticity, his often-humorous, twangy, foot-stompin' songs featuring traditional instruments and his rollicking, good timin' live shows.Jay has kept busy throughout the pandemic playing local shows and releasing videos for original honkytonk-styled Lost in Austin, Conway & Loretta cover, You’re the Reason our Kids are Ugly and releasing singles - Beautiful Shame, a duet with his cousin, Shyanne Mae Gaudet and the December 2021 release, Some Folks, which shows off his John Prine influence. Next up in 2022 will be the release of a series of singles recorded in 2021 with Jeff Zipp at Hipposonic with the help of some of Vancouver’s top talent includ
