If his roots were punk, his rebellion was jazz. Raised in a small northern Utah town of Richmond, Jeremy Nivison came up on punk and outlaw rock, playing in his father’s bar band before he was old enough to be there. Drawn to harmony, nuance, and depth, he chased music through Nashville, Orange County, and Seattle, absorbing influences and quietly building a voice that didn’t belong to any one scene. After returning to Utah, Jeremy rebuilt his life through music, writing, and performance. Over time, he developed a sound shaped by contradiction: jazz-informed Americana with a classic punk soul—groove-driven, moody, off-center, and deeply human. Now focused on composition for film and television, live performance, and education, Jeremy brings a lifetime of lived experience into every note. He plans to keep doing it until the end.
