Joel john Buba (born 7th may 1992), commonly known by his stage name Joe Shigma, (alias Shiggi the shark), is a Nigerian rapper, singer, song writer and record producer. He officially started his music career in 2009 as a member of a group of six singers/rappers known as Burger squad who gained recognition in Gombe state. Around 2010,11,12,13 till the group split.
He began his career again as a solo artist later in 2014, 15, 16 and made songs like Elite, kpako life, gospel untitled, Dawo Dawo, soji, and more. In 2017 he gained more recognition with the popularization of his debut album, a 15 song mix tape titled “simply the dopest (STD)” The project went viral among music audience and solidified his position as a new solo artist and one of the hot rapper/singer in the Northern Nigeria. Till date Shigma has continued to thrill his audience with good music and collaborating with other musicians to explore new horizons.
